STEP 05 - I colori nella musica

Riguardo al legame tra colore e musica, sicuramente fondamentale, il colore beige, molto simile all' ércu, è presente in due frangenti della musica rock.

Il primo riferimento è verso l'album "Monuments to an elegy" degli Smashing Pumpkins atteso il 9 dicembre il cui brano di anteprima si intitola "Being Beige(World's on fire)".
«La gente mi chiede sempre di spiegare le canzoni, ma io non so che farlo, davvero», dice Billy Corgan, che in questo primo singolo del nuovo album canta un allegro ritornello, “The world’s on fire”. «Ma se c’è dell’onestà in questi versi», continua il cantante degli Smashing Pumpkins, «è che c’è qualcosa che non va nel nostro universo. Ma ancora dobbiamo amare».

Un altro fondamentale riferimento al beige è visibile nell'album di Duke Ellington "Black, Brown and Beige".

Album "Black, Brown and Beige"

L'album è la registrazione di una versione riveduta e corretta della suite Black, Brown and Beige composta da Ellington nel 1943 ispirandosi al cammino di emancipazione del popolo afroamericano negli Stati Uniti. Dopo un responso critico negativo alla prima esecuzione della composizione nel 1943, Ellington modificò la suite inizialmente composta da tre parti, dividendola in sei altre sezioni più brevi, con l'aggiunta di Come someday e Work Song, ed è questa versione che venne incisa alla Columbia nel '58.
